While it sounds like a long shot, the chief executive of her Queen’s Reading Room charity isn’t dismissing the idea.

Vicki Perrin, who leads the initiative, hinted at the possibility of the 77-year-old royal joining the platform that has captivated millions, especially the book-loving community known as BookTok.

During an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Perrin expressed her enthusiasm about the potential of Camilla gracing TikTok.

She stated, “Never say never,” emphasizing that the surge in popularity of BookTok has been remarkable.

According to her, the ultimate goal is to convey one vital message: books are for everyone, regardless of the genre or style.

Perrin believes that the diverse offerings of literature—from thrilling mysteries to heartfelt romances—should be accessible to all.

She remarked, “It doesn’t matter what you read,” highlighting that the joy of reading transcends specific preferences.

She also noted how BookTok has effectively dismantled barriers, making literature more inclusive and engaging.

With this in mind, Perrin left us with a tantalizing hint: “Whether we’ll end up there, who knows?

Watch this space.” If Camilla does decide to take the plunge into TikTok, she would make history as the first senior royal to establish a presence on the platform.

Currently, Camilla maintains an active social media presence through Instagram, specifically on The Queen’s Reading Room account.

Although she doesn’t have her personal handle (@queencamilla), she shares glimpses of her life and the literary world she champions, much to the delight of her followers.

The reach of The Queen’s Reading Room has been impressive, with Perrin revealing that they connect with around 12 million people across 171 countries.

She expressed her joy at witnessing the growing love for reading and the community forming around it, proving that there’s a significant appetite for books in today’s digital age.

Initially launched as a book club during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, The Queen’s Reading Room has evolved to feature author interviews and charming anecdotes about King Charles, particularly his storytelling skills when reading Harry Potter to Camilla’s grandchildren.

This blend of royal charm and literary advocacy has struck a chord with many.

The prospect of Camilla joining TikTok might seem unusual, but she’s not alone in exploring social media.
