Get ready for some late-night fun, because Jason Kelce is about to take the hosting world by storm!
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl champion has announced he will be leading his own late-night talk show titled “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce,” which is set to debut in January 2025.
During a lively segment on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last Thursday, the 37-year-old football star shared the exciting news.
He reminisced about his love for late-night television, recalling fond memories of watching Conan O’Brien during sleepovers as a kid.
With palpable enthusiasm, he expressed his desire to bring that same joy to viewers through his new show.
Kelce’s talk show will air from Philadelphia and promises to be a star-studded affair.
He hinted at inviting friends, fellow athletes, coaches, and celebrities to join him on stage, creating a vibrant atmosphere for guests and fans alike.
“It’s going to be a celebration,” he stated, setting high expectations for what’s to come.
Mark your calendars!
The show will kick off with five episodes filmed on consecutive Friday nights starting January 3.
This timing aligns perfectly with the NFL’s regular season finale, just before the playoff excitement ramps up.
Fans can catch the hour-long episodes airing at 1 a.m. on ESPN, and they’ll also be available for streaming on ESPN+ and Kelce’s YouTube channels.
The show’s title pays homage to NFL Films’ classic “They Call It Pro Football,” which debuted back in 1967, and it cleverly connects to the city where NFL Films was born—Philadelphia.
So, it appears Kelce is not just carrying on a tradition but also celebrating the roots of the sport he loves.
So far, the network has confirmed five episodes, with the final one scheduled for February 1.
All episodes will be filmed in front of a live audience at Union Transfer, a venue known for its energetic vibe.
This setup promises to add an engaging element that late-night audiences crave.
While the show won’t air live, it will still capture the essence of traditional late-night programming, featuring celebrity interviews and interactions with the audience.
Plus, there will be a special segment called SNACKTIME, showcasing a live band from Philly to keep the energy high throughout the evening.
In collaboration with NFL Films, Kelce’s production company Wooderboy Productions and Skydance Sports are behind this venture, ensuring quality content that resonates with fans.
This endeavor is part of a multi-year deal that Kelce signed with ESPN after wrapping up his illustrious football career earlier this year.
Since retiring in March, Kelce has seamlessly transitioned into sports commentary, currently serving as an analyst on “Monday Night Countdown.” His journey has been closely followed by fans, especially after the spotlight shone on his family when his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, began dating pop superstar Taylor Swift last fall.
The brothers have also made waves with their podcast, “New Heights,” which has garnered a significant following.
Earlier this year, they secured a remarkable three-year, $100 million deal with Amazon’s Wondery network to continue their podcasting journey.
With a decorated NFL career that includes six All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl appearances, Kelce has certainly earned his place in the spotlight.
