Margot Robbie Surprised by Bold Content in New Film ‘Babylon’

Margot Robbie, the renowned Australian actress, has expressed her astonishment at the inclusion of a daring “orgy” scene in her latest cinematic venture.

‘Babylon’, a grand Hollywood production helmed by the Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle of La La Land fame, showcases Robbie alongside Diego Calva and Brad Pitt in pivotal roles.

Critics have noted that the film is generating mixed reactions due to its provocative content, notably an early depiction of an extravagant orgy scene.

During a conversation with fellow actor Carey Mulligan as part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” interview series, Robbie shared her thoughts on the film.

Mulligan described the initial sequence as a “wild, debauched party” featuring numerous individuals scantily clad or wearing nothing at all.

Robbie elaborated, stating, “It’s essentially a party evolving into an orgy.”

Labeling the film as “crazy,” Robbie remarked, “Upon reading the script, I likened it to a blend between La Dolce Vita and Wolf of Wall Street – a concoction I found immensely appealing.

Yet, I pondered, can we truly display this?

Can we get away with this?”

Reflecting on her experience, Robbie expressed uncertainties about various scenes, pondering, “Firstly, how do I approach this?

And secondly, will we evade repercussions for this?”

In a light-hearted exchange, when Mulligan mentioned watching the film with her mother, Robbie quipped, “What was her reaction?

Oh, dear,” humorously adding, “Viewing Babylon with one’s parents seems like a fantastic idea.

No awkwardness there!”

Mulligan also divulged an amusing anecdote about her past, recounting how she had her husband, Marcus Mumford, accompany her mother to watch the provocative film ‘Shame’, a narrative centered around a s** addict, back when she had just begun dating the singer.

Robbie recently disclosed that the intimate kissing scene with Pitt in ‘Babylon’ was impromptu, highlighting her decision to seize the moment and improvise during filming.

‘Babylon’ premiered in the United States on 23 December and is slated for release in the United Kingdom on 23 January.
