** King Charles Strains Ties with Prince Andrew Amid Financial Fallout**

As the nation gathered last week to honor the memories of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during All Souls services, one couldn’t help but wonder about the distress this rift between Charles and Andrew might have caused the late monarch.

The latest discord among the royal siblings has raised eyebrows, particularly as it comes on the heels of a significant revelation.

Recent reports revealed by the Daily Mail, stemming from Robert Hardman’s updated biography of King Charles III, indicate that the King has severed financial ties with Prince Andrew.

This move signals another downturn in their already strained relationship.

According to the book titled *Charles III: New King.

New Court*, the King instructed Sir Michael Stevens, the Keeper of the Privy Purse, to terminate Andrew’s annual allowance, which was estimated at £1 million.

Additionally, funding for Andrew’s private security detail has also been halted, suggesting the Duke is no longer a financial responsibility for his brother.

This decision has left many close to Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, reeling.

Friends of the Duke are reportedly perplexed, questioning the rationale behind this timing.

“Why now, and why would the King take such a drastic step?” asked one concerned associate.

Given the King’s substantial income sources, including over £27 million from the Duchy of Lancaster last year alone, some find it puzzling that he would want to cut costs in this manner.

The Sovereign Grant, which funds the Royal Family’s operational expenses, is set to provide Charles with an impressive £86.3 million this year.

Against this backdrop of considerable wealth, his decision to withdraw financial support from Andrew raises eyebrows, particularly as public scrutiny regarding royal finances intensifies under the current Labour Government, which is making moves to reform hereditary positions in the House of Lords.

Nick Thomas-Symonds, the minister for the constitution, recently criticized the hereditary system, stating it has become outdated in today’s Britain.

The King faces a challenging political landscape, especially with figures like Sir Keir Starmer openly advocating for the monarchy’s abolition, although the Prime Minister later dismissed those views as youthful folly.

Moreover, stories surfacing about the Duchy of Lancaster charging the NHS hefty fees for parking ambulances have further fueled public skepticism.

Yet instead of uniting against external pressures, the King seems to be turning against Andrew, who has a history of service, including his time as a helicopter pilot in the Falklands War and his role as a UK trade envoy.

A friend of the York family pointed out the irony in the situation, highlighting that despite scrutiny, both Andrew and Sarah have consistently remained loyal to the Crown.

“It’s incredible how Sarah has managed to build a public career while maintaining a respectful silence about the royal family,” the friend noted.

In stark contrast, Andrew’s disloyal cousin, the Duke of Sussex, has profited significantly from revealing family secrets in his memoir and documentary series.

This comparison raises questions about the King’s judgment: is it wise to push his brother Andrew toward financial independence to cover the upkeep of Royal Lodge, which could cost around £1 million annually?

Royal Lodge, their family residence since 2003 when they secured a 75-year lease, has undergone extensive renovations costing upwards of £7.5 million.

There have been whispers about the possibility of renting out the property; however, a National Audit Office report from 2005 indicated that this wouldn’t be feasible due to security and management concerns surrounding the royal family.

Despite these challenges, reports suggest that Andrew has secured legitimate funds to stay at Royal Lodge, as confirmed by the Keeper of the Privy Purse.

It remains crucial for King Charles to assure Andrew that he won’t lose his family home if his finances falter.

Otherwise, there looms the risk that Andrew might follow in the footsteps of his estranged nephew, spilling royal secrets for profit.

Such a scenario would likely leave both the monarchy and its supporters deeply unsettled, and it’s certainly not a path anyone wishes to see unfold.
