Demi Moore’s upcoming memoir, Inside Out, reveals shocking details about her past relationship with Ashton Kutcher.
The book, set for release on Sept. 24, has been causing a stir with its revelations, shedding light on why Ashton Kutcher has been keeping a low profile lately.
In the memoir, Moore discloses some of the challenges they faced in their marriage, particularly the turmoil that led to its collapse in 2011 following a cheating scandal.
Radar Online, which obtained an early copy of the book, reports that Moore, now 56, acknowledges the long-speculated rumors of engaging in threesomes during their marriage.
She also opens up about sacrificing her 20-year sobriety for the sake of appealing to Kutcher.
The couple, with a significant 15-year age gap, first crossed paths in 2003 and tied the knot two years later.
Sometime during their troubled relationship, Kutcher, known for his role in That ‘70s Show, suggested having a threesome — to which Moore consented.
Expressing her motivation behind agreeing to such encounters, Moore writes, “I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be,” revealing her involvement in two separate instances with an undisclosed third party.
However, Moore now considers these actions a “mistake,” as highlighted in the book.
The blurred boundaries in their marriage became apparent when Moore stumbled upon a tabloid report during the filming of Another Happy Day in New York City in 2010.
The report alleged Kutcher’s infidelity with a 21-year-old woman named Brittney Jones in their marital home, further escalating their tumultuous relationship.
Feeling betrayed and abandoned, Moore recounts that Kutcher failed to display remorse for his actions.
According to Moore’s account, Kutcher attributed his behavior to the introduction of a third party into their relationship, which, in his view, justified his transgressions.
Moreover, the final straw leading to their separation came when Moore received a distressing Google alert claiming Kutcher had cheated with a woman at his friend Danny Masterson’s bachelor party in San Diego, coinciding with their sixth wedding anniversary.
Moore recounts feeling devastated and nauseated by the revelation, especially as the other woman, Sara Leal, corroborated the infidelity through media interviews.
In addition to these revelations, Moore delves into her struggle with alcoholism after meeting Kutcher, recalling a pivotal moment during a romantic trip to Mexico where Kutcher downplayed the seriousness of alcohol addiction.
Encouraged by Kutcher’s perspective on moderation, Moore made the fateful decision to consume alcohol, marking the beginning of a downward spiral in her battle with addiction.
The memoir also touches upon Moore’s traumatic experiences, including a painful miscarriage early in their relationship, subsequent substance abuse as a coping mechanism, and a harrowing incident at Joe Francis’s residence, where excessive drinking led to a near-drowning episode in a hot tub.
Despite the challenges she faced, Moore recounts feeling unsupported by Kutcher during her detox from Vicodin, following a period of substance abuse post-dental surgery.
Reflecting on her journey towards sobriety and self-discovery, Moore emphasizes the importance of seeking therapy and cultivating self-compassion in her pursuit of personal growth.
While Kutcher has remained silent on the contents of Moore’s memoir, focusing on his current life with wife Mila Kunis and their children, Moore’s candid account serves as a cathartic release, symbolizing closure to past wounds and embracing new beginnings.
