Can you picture a scenario where a wife keeps her voting choice a secret from her husband?
It’s baffling, right?
Even in the most strained relationships, sharing such a decision seems essential.
This is Ken Harbaugh from the Midas Touch Network, and today, I want to focus on the critical nature of tomorrow’s election.
I’m particularly addressing those men in your lives who might still be undecided about their vote.
Perhaps this discussion will resonate with them.
One of the most disheartening aspects of our current political landscape is the starkly different stakes that various groups face in this election.
It’s an uncomfortable truth to acknowledge, but it needs to be said: white men, especially straight white men, are likely not the ones who will bear the brunt of the consequences if Trump secures another term.
Many have expressed a nonchalant attitude, thinking, “What do I have to worry about?” But let’s pause for a moment.
While it may seem true that Trump isn’t targeting them directly, he is indeed threatening our democracy, which impacts us all.
Even if some white men feel insulated from Trump’s agenda, it’s time to mature and consider the broader implications.
Surely, there are people in your life whom you care about deeply—people who are at risk from Trump’s policies.
His track record of attacking minority groups should strike a chord with anyone who values compassion and justice.
If the implications of his Muslim ban, the marginalization of transgender individuals, or his mockery of the disabled don’t hit home, let’s talk about women’s rights.
If re-elected, Trump could unleash devastating setbacks for women’s rights across the nation.
We’ve all heard the harrowing stories of women facing life-threatening situations due to restrictive abortion laws.
Imagine a woman bleeding out in a parking lot, desperately waiting for medical help that may never arrive because doctors fear legal repercussions for doing their jobs.
So, guys, think about the women in your lives—your mothers, sisters, and daughters.
If you can’t muster the courage to vote for their well-being, consider sitting this one out.
But wait—don’t actually sit it out.
You don’t have the luxury of apathy this time around.
Voting in this election is a binary choice.
You’re either supporting a man who boasts about assaulting women and has numerous credible sual assault allegations against him, or you’re backing Kamala Harris, who stands for progress and respect.
Choosing to abstain from voting doesn’t absolve you of responsibility; it’s an abdication of your duty as a citizen.
Moreover, whatever other issues ignite your passion, if Kamala Harris ascends to the presidency, you’ll still have the opportunity to advocate for those causes.
The democratic process will continue under her leadership.
In contrast, if Trump returns to power, we risk losing everything.
He has repeatedly shown disdain for the electoral process and has threatened to undermine the very fabric of our democracy.
I sincerely hope you value democracy enough to cast your vote in its favor.
But more importantly, think of the marginalized individuals in your life and what a Trump presidency would mean for them.
Reflect on the women he has belittled and assaulted.
A vote for Trump is a vote against their dignity and rights.
If your sole reason for supporting him is that he doesn’t seem to threaten you personally, then let’s rethink that stance.
True manliness lies in standing up for others, not turning a blind eye to their suffering.
Women voters are poised to play a pivotal role in this election, and there are already signs pointing to their strength.
Just this past weekend, I was canvassing in suburban Virginia when a man answered the door, proudly declaring that his household was voting for Trump.
Behind him, a woman shook her head in disapproval.
This is how we can defeat Trump; we need to rally together and do even better on Election Day.
However, we must also prepare for the potential fallout from this election.
Political violence seems almost inevitable, given the current climate.
I’ve studied violent extremism and witnessed firsthand the fervor at Trump rallies, which often serve as a call to arms for his most radical supporters.
We have one chance to counter this threat, and it hinges on mobilizing women voters and ensuring they deliver a decisive blow to Trump’s ambitions.
Lastly, fathers, remember that your sons are watching you.
Be the role model who shows them the importance of standing up for not only oneself but also for the vulnerable members of society.
This is a moment that will define future generations.
Your children will ask about this election, and you want to ensure your response reflects the values you stand for.
To the women of America, thank you for being the frontline defenders of democracy.
Your efforts are invaluable, and we owe you a debt that can never truly be repaid.
For the men who remain undecided, consider the impact of your vote on those you cherish.
This election is a defining moment in American history—make sure your choice is one you can be proud of.
Let’s get out there and make a difference!
