The image of Marilyn Monroe is synonymous with her signature blonde curls, striking red lips, and flawless beauty mark; however, the star bore an astonishingly unrecognizable appearance at the time of her passing.
During preparations for her burial, two morticians were confronted with a startling sight – the iconic s** symbol sported hairy legs, dentures, and patches of purple discoloration on her face upon her death at the age of 36 in 1962.
These grim revelations about Monroe have now come to light through the renowned celebrity mortician Allan Abbot’s upcoming book, “Pardon My Hearse,” set to be released on June 15.
Within the pages of his book, Abbot delves into explicit descriptions, portraying the “Gentleman Prefer Blondes” star as rather “ordinary.”
“When we uncovered her body, it was nearly inconceivable to reconcile that this figure was indeed Marilyn Monroe,” expressed Abbot.
“She resembled a typical, aging woman who had neglected her self-care.”
During the 1960s, Allan Abbot and Ron Hast were the preferred morticians for the elite and famed personalities.
Apart from Monroe, the duo also tended to the remains of celebrities like Natalie Wood, with Abbot recounting the day they retrieved Wood in his forthcoming book.
The month of June appears to revolve around all things Marilyn.
Towards the end of this month, Julien’s “Hollywood Legends Auction” will showcase various personal possessions of Monroe up for auction.
Among these items are the final dress she wore in a movie scene prior to her demise, her tombstone, and even a medical X-ray.
The anticipated highlight of the collection is the dress itself, projected to fetch between $400,000 to $600,000.
